Our Story: How The Burrow Came to Be
It began during the lockdown. Confined to a small apartment with a restless toddler and a Shiba Inu, the walls felt like they were closing in. We weren't just looking for a house; we were searching for a breath of fresh air. We needed an escape.
That search led us to the Catskills, where we stumbled upon something that felt less like a building and more like a secret. Buried into the hillside and embraced by the forest, this sanctuary felt completely protected from the world outside. It wasn’t just about the space; it was about the way the light hit the loft and the sense of warmth that seemed to radiate from the ground up.
We dove headfirst into this new life, trading city pavement for soil and mud. We didn't just move in; we evolved. We became accidental farmers, with our daughter leading the charge as we raised a chaotic, joyful flock of birds and learned to coax flowers and vegetables from the earth. The house became our teacher, showing us how to slow down. We spent our days exploring local trails and our nights gathered around the fire, learning to listen to the quiet rhythm of the woods rather than the noise of the city.
Eventually, the solitude gave way to celebration. We realized this home had a gravity of its own—pulling friends and family together for deep sleeps, long meals, and conversations that lasted until the stars faded. We found that this space has a unique ability to help people disconnect from the hustle and reconnect with each other.
Now, we are opening the doors to share that peace. Welcome to the Catskill Burrow, and welcome to our wild journey.

We had a lovely stay. Was a great hub for where the wedding was down the street. This looks like a great place to stay in the winter. Loved the bath tub and sauna. Found a lovely farm stand nearby that had eggs, milk, ice cream and a chicken pot pie and flowers!!
